Patroski J. Lawson, MSP

Founder & CEO

BIO

Patroski Lawson has 20 years of local, state, federal and global government affairs experience spanning both the public and private sectors.  He began his career as the regional representative in Middle Georgia working for U.S. Senator Paul D. Coverdell. Patroski liaised with local and state government officials and spearheaded Coverdell’s anti-drug outreach efforts to churches, community leaders and schools. Patroski joined The Home Depot in Georgia to run the political involvement and grassroots programs and to manage the corporate political action committee (PAC).

Patroski has over 15 years of government affairs experience in healthcare at three global companies: Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Abbott and Lundbeck.  His experience covers lobbying and advocacy in Brussels, Washington D.C., and in state capitols across the United States. Patroski has extensive experience developing and managing government affairs budgets and providing strategic guidance to senior executives, including U.S. and global CEOs.

At Solvay Pharmaceuticals and Lundbeck, he led the government affairs team responsible for developing overall government affairs strategic plans, which included strategy, risk management, stakeholder and patient engagement and PAC management.  Patroski was instrumental in Solvay’s successfully securing a $300 million federal contract from HHS to build the first cell-based influenza vaccine facility in the U.S.

Patroski founded the KPM Group to provide strategic guidance to clients in need of a range of government affairs solutions to drive business success.  Patroski specializes in helping companies create an overall government affairs strategy, which includes risk management, federal and state Hill legislative advocacy, and corporate PAC development and overall strategy.

Patroski has been a featured speaker at the National PAC Conference and served as co-host of the Innovate to Motivate Political Involvement Professionals Conference. A 2014 graduate of the Public Affairs Institute, Patroski served on the Executive Committee of the Public Affairs Council in Washington, DC.

Patroski lives in the vibrant Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC, with his wife and son.  He has a passion for wine, food, and travel which he pursues through his company, Wine Immersion, LLC. Patroski is a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and a well-known DC wine educator and consultant.  In 2013, he founded the Executive Wine Lunch Society (EWLS) to foster wine education and fellowship among business executives. The Society spans multiple industries, disciplines and advocacy groups in Washington, DC.  The society meets monthly and currently has almost 300 members.
